A company made in early 2016 in the middle of rapid-moving cosmetic industry by Lim Jungeun who just finished her study in Make Up Forever Academy Paris, dot. Cosmetics breaks the popular perceptions about Korean make up style which is natural look that some people might find it boring. dot. brings make up items not only to create the look they are confident of, but also courage and products to play with. dot. Cosmetics tries to make more bold and playful version of Korean style to define their own personality.

In 2018, the business grew even larger. Their target market has expanded, not only Korean but also Asian. To reach the targets better, dot. works on their flagship store in Gangnam also offline store in some big cities such as Gangnam, Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Jakarta. Every offline branch are placed inside representative mall in the city. Products are also sold online on dot.co.kr.

The general theme is The Red Playground. dot. tries to portrays the brand philosophy in the ambience of the store; bold, playful, adventurous.

Offline stores are made as an offline channel for consumer to try dot. cosmetics products and buy them. These store are made simple, just like the other offline stores. Deep red and black dominates the store as the playground theme is displayed through simple stuff like miniatures and simple game. For every purchase, consumer will get a red paper bag with products purchased and red colored greeting card inside.

dot. also offer membership for consumer to get special deals on special moments when dot. campaigns take place.

WRITTEN IN WRITER'S PERSPECTIVE

Alright, first of all, the idea of flagship and offline store was already there in marketing. I mean, the term has been widely used but not emphasized. But then I find a good example for this, which is Stylenanda & 3CE's, the dearest-face-claim's cave. Well, I have written clear description of both on each sections but I think it was not enough. So I decided to add this section which actually aims to show you video of Stylenanda & 3CE's flagship and offline store. I'll link some videos below, go check them if you need better understanding what differ these stores. Thank you.

The building itself was painted all black with red lamps on several area, like displays, photobooth, stairs and bar so the experience is actually better at night when the lamps are on. There are five floors, including basement and rooftop.

The basement displays underwears made by dot. that are only sold in this flagship store. One side of the is painted in red with black dot. logo as photobooth. Pajamas, magazine, queen-sized bed are provided as property if you desire to take a photo to commemorate your visit. The other corner, make up tools are displayed but the tools are not being sold yet because they are still under development. The products are put there to help team survey whether they are up to consumers' expectation or not.

Lift is available, but stairs are always there too, decorated with LED lamps. You could pack anything you want to buy in shopping basket.

Cashier is available on the first floor. Beside, the first floor is where the mini games are placed. Dart, photobox, you name it. Also, on one side of the wall is written dot.'s profile in detail.

Second floor greets you with base make up products such as foundations, powders, etc. Every product tester are free to be tried as mirror, micellar water and cotton pad are free to be used too. Expect wider range of shade, so any skin tone and color definitely will be able to find their fated one there. Also, nail artist occupies small corner. To get your nails done, you need to reserve a spot the day before.

Third floor is where the creativity takes place as it displays decorative make up products which are usually focus on eye and lips. You could try how dot. defines bold and unique by getting a make over there. Make over area is basically spot where you can do you make up and hair. Every visit will benefit you a voucher discount for The Red Playground bar on the top floor.

And yes, you've come to the last floor where the fun sums up. It's the bar which is divided into two; indoor and outdoor. 10AM-9PM, The Red Playground serves tea, coffee and sweet deserts. 9PM til drop, The Red Playground unveils the night life of Gangnam. Alcoholic drinks and reputable DJ are what makes it different from the day.
